I am passionate about working with students to develop their full potential. I have been a Resource Specialist for the past 15 years and have been at Amador Valley High School in Pleasanton California since 2001. Being a Resource Specialist provides me the opportunity to develop individualized educational programs that are tailored to meet the needs of each student.

Prior to teaching I spent 6 years in the Marine Corps where I served as an infantry Noncommissioned officer in an Amphibious Assault Special Operations Unit. Immediately after my last tour I entered San Jose State University where I received my undergraduate degree in Athletic Training and minor in Special Education. I latter received my teaching credentials in Special Education from San Jose State.

In 1986 I was introduced to the sport of rugby and have been addicted to it since then. I played for 13 years before hanging up my boots and taking up the whistle as a referee. I have been fortunate enough to referee at both the national and international level. Rugby has provided me the opportunity to travel the word chasing the rugby ball in such places as England, Ireland , Wales, Australia, Tonga, and the Caribbean Islands. Today I continue to referee local and national assignments in the US. I am also the president of the Pleasanton Cavaliers Rugby Club, a non-profit team whose mission is to introduce rugby to the community and develop children and young adults in a positive manner.
