This section refers to Costa's Level of questioning and levels of reasoning.
The idea behind it is that as we understand a subject more, going from
concrete to more abstract, we are better able to answer more difficult
questions related to the subject mater. As students create notes and develop
study guides for test preparation they should refer to this list to develop
better questions that require more in-depth thought. The goal is to ask
a multitude of questions on all levels.
For example, if I were to pose questions about Costa's levels of question
I could pose three questions, one for each level.
Level1: List the different questioning words for each of Costa's three
levels.
Level 2: Compare and contrast level one questions to level 3 questions.
Level 3: Predict questions a 1st grade student, Junior high student,
and college student may have about Costa's understanding of knowledge
acquisition.
